  • Few tourists have left such a mark, as did Mary Schaffer (1861 - 1939). As an explorer, writer and artist, her name became synonymous with the adventures of women in the Canadian Rockies. The Stoney Nakoda called her Yahe-Weha, meaning Mountain Woman.
