  • A is for alpine adventure!

Shortlisted for multiple book awards, this sturdy hardcover alphabet book is the best-selling children’s book in the Canadian Rockies.

Local artist Max Elliott illustrates mountain landscapes, wildlife, and activities using colourful painting and collage. Her original artwork combined with simple phrases creates a unique opportunity for endless fun while learning the alphabet.

In between being captivated by the illustrations, children will learn that B stands for Bear and H is for Hiking.

At the back of the book, local children talk about their favourite things to do and places to see throughout the Canadian Rockies.

  • MAX ELLIOTT has lived and worked in the mountain parks of Western Canada for most of the past 30 years. Educated at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Max has created drawings, paintings, mixed-media collages, prints, mosaics, ceramic pieces, and poetry reflecting her love of an ever-changing and inspirational mountain environment.

Max’s recent exhibitions include the solo shows A is for Alpine and Glacier-fed, and the group show Elemental Inspiration: Out of the Wildfire, all at Banff’s Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. Her work can be found in public and private collections worldwide.
